Don’t forget that next Wednesday, March 1st (on what would have been my Dad’s 89th birthday) is our 5 year anniversary!  Here is a picture of my dad doing what he did best…always helping out!

The store, with all of my wonderful staff, consignors and customers, has survived and I am just so grateful that we are still here and open to serve y’all.

As you read this, I am driving to LAX to pick up my mom.  After her fall at the store on Black Friday, I just can’t in all good conscience put her on the shuttle.  UGHHHHHHH.  I hate LAX.  Oh well, the troops are arriving to help celebrate!

My mom arrives today, and then my high school friends start arriving.  Jo Dallas on Saturday, Kathy Rutan & Leslie Arntzen on Tuesday the 28th and hopefully (fingers crossed) Houston, Indiana and Emma on Wednesday.  Here I am with the high school girls at the Madonna Inn a year and a half ago.  We always have FUN!

My good friend Kimberly Wallace will also be here on Wednesday as our “photographer”.  So fun to have my people in the house!

I am a bit exhausted as I just returned on Tuesday from Presiden’t Weekend in the Desert.  It was super fun!  We had brunch at Le Valeries on Sunday and then saw the Coachella Firebirds play Hockey on Monday.    Gotta get my second wind for the influx of company.

Six years ago today, my mom, Indy and I were headed to Europe.  Indiana had just broken her foot dancing in a production of West Side Story, so it made for an interesting adventure!

We were going to  London first, then on to Heidelberg to see Goose (he was doing a year abroad with Pepperdine) and then to Poland.  In Poland we toured Auschwitz-Birkenau and it made a lasting impression.  There is currently an Auschwitz exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Library that I am going to get tickets to see.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our 5 year anniversary party on Wednesday, March 1st from 11 to 5 pm. Ooops, I almost forgot! It is also the 1 year anniversary for Fun Fashions! Time really does fly!

Happy Thursday!  And Yes, my life was an absolute mess 5 years ago.  I was in the process of moving my eBay business, my home and furniture for the new store from Rancho Mirage to Ventura.

Here is my friend Kel on this day 5 years ago in my family room helping me sort eBay boxes.  What a mess!  Somehow, I made it out of there with all of my stuff.  I even got my rental deposit back.

Now that is a true miracle!  And I have so many of my friends to thank, not only Kel, but Mo, Candy, Ron, Max, Sandra and Tina Burke!

Hard to believe, but in just 3 short weeks from that day, we would have the grand opening of Lynn’s Consignments!  Don’t forget, our 5 Year Anniversary Party (and it will be a party) happens on Wednesday, March 1st, all day in the store!

And since I am in a flashback mood, do you remember this amazing MCM (Mid Century Modern) window that we did exactly two years ago?

What a time capsule.  This was one of our consignor’s mother’s actual living room.  It was in pristine condition and every single piece sold and they sold quickly!  I would LOVE another window like this.  Who has some MCM furniture for me?
