Volume VI  Issue 000034

Right before the show started, I ended up getting a migraine. Ughhhhh…..I got my first migraine when I was six years old and they are brutal.

Somehow, I held it together and Tina went to get me some aspirin. Thank you Tina! I say really strange things when I get migraines and luckily I was only talking to Susan at that point. Oh my!

Even with my migraine, the show turned out to be a huge success! Here are a few more pics!

And a few more!  I would have taken more pictures, but I was not feeling well!

On Sunday after the show, I met a friend in Santa Barbara to go thrifting.  He has a BMX bike called the “Houston Ripper”.  I text a picture of it to my son, Houston (the avid cyclist) and he got a kick out of it!  “Mom, he says, that is a ‘box bike'”   I guess that is NOT very good in his eyes!

It was a super fun, but exhausting weekend!  Got some cool stuff for the store though.

Monday, I worked in the morning and then did Fit Buddha at noon. Marc and I went out to lunch at Aloha and it was a great day….until I got home…..

The gal (Musonda) who lives in my casita couldn’t find her dog, Winston. It sounded like he was inside my house, but it turns out he wasn’t.

We finally figured out he had chased Carlos under the deck and was trapped under the house. Oh my!

Musonda and I tried for about 30 minutes to coax him out to no avail.

I finally realized that we needed some expert help, so I called the Fire Department non emergency line and the awesome guys from Station #5 were there within minutes…..just like when they pulled Carlos down from the super tall tree about 2 years ago.  Yikes!

As I was introducing myself to the firemen, Mike says “I was on that call a few years ago for your cat”.   Hahahaha!

Anyway, they got Winston out with no problem and then reattached the grate under the house so this would NOT happen again.

Crisis averted, or so I thought.  At about 3 in the morning, I realized I hadn’t seen Carlos and he was still probably stuck behind the grate under the house.  My poor kitty!  I went out there and lifted up the wood cover and sure enough there he was meowing on the other side of the grate. Luckily, I managed to pry it loose.

He came right inside and ate his very “late dinner” and curled up on my bed and on my head.  He was just fine!

We have made a BIG decision….We will not be carrying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Iron Orchid Designs or Redesign with Prima any longer.

The market is shifting away from painted furniture and we are following the trends.

We will be liquidating this stock and this week you can save 30% on any of these brands!

As many of you know, Houston, is in his first year of law school at Pepperdine.  He is actively looking for a summer internship (preferably paid), but he is open to anything.

If you or anyone you know may have something for him this summer, please reach out!  He is fine with either LA or Ventura.  If I do say so myself, he is extremely intelligent, hard working and a great writer.  He has all the hallmarks of becoming an excellent barrister.

Time for an eBay score.  I was talking to my mom yesterday morning and she was telling me that she had 6 pieces of flatware to ship for a total of $200.  Score!  It is a Vietri set that she paid about $150 for about a year ago and has made quite a nice profit on it.  Way to go Mor Mor!

You can check out the listing here.  These two forks sold for $60!

Don’t forget about our Design Service.  We have successfully completed our Pasadena Job and our schedule is open for you and your makeover!

Here is a before and after from Pasadena.

And for the first person that contacts us for a design job, we will waive the $50 initial consult fee.  So email or text away 760-880-3535!

Susan and I can’t wait to get started on your redo!

And here is an example of a design board that we will do for your job.  This one is for a Mid Century Design Job.

Time for another eBay score.  But this time it is mine!  This was listed in May of 2015, while I still lived in the desert.  Crazy how that can be 10 years ago!  I paid $5 for it and sold it yesterday for a best offer of $85.  I don’t mind waiting for items to sell since we only pay a selling fee when they actually sell (there are no more listing fees unless you don’t have an eBay store).

Check it out here.  Now, I just have to find it tomorrow and get it shipped off!

Not this Saturday, but next Saturday will be March 1st. And it will be our 7 year Anniversary! I normally do something big for these anniversaries, like raffle prizes, catered food, free bee & wine, a photographer etc, but this year I am exhausted from the fund raiser, so we will lay low.

I will have some complimentary Beer and Wine (and maybe some Vodka since you fools at the Variety Show drank a whole Liter)….I am not kidding! Where did that all go? In any event, please stop by on Saturday, March 1st and wish us well! I would greatly appreciate it. Hope to see you soon!

And as you may remember, our anniversary is always on what should have been my dad’s birthday. And this year, he should have been 91. Miss you Papa! Here we are in London when I was six and my brother was three. Memories!

And now, for what most of you have been waiting for….our new arrivals.
