Volume VI  Issue 000057

I don’t want to make this ezine all about ChaCha, but it just might be.  LOL.  She not only chewed up the other shoe (to the pair that she got one of last week), but she got a photo out of my purse and chewed that up!  Uggghhh.

I have to forgive her though, because it was her Golden Birthday on Tuesday.  More about that later.

Last Thursday night, I had a friend that was going to pick me up at my house for dinner.  Oy Vey!  My house was a mess, since my housekeeper wasn’t coming until Monday.

Sandy called me Thursday afternoon and she was getting her nails done right by my house….I said “Why don’t you stop by when you are done?”  Wishful thinking and hoping for some help.  Well, if you know Sandy, she came right in and cleaned up my kitchen, the living room and the floors.

I am so BLESSED to have friends like this!

August 1st, Friday night, was the Shawn Jones concert with 8 of my closest friends….LOL.  Always a super fun time!  We met up at Yolanda’s for dinner for a “prefunk” and we were still celebrating Jeff’s birthday from the night before, July 31st.

Here are he and Marc doing Margarita shots….is that a thing?

The concert with Shawn’s Big Band was Phenomenal.  We all had sooooo much fun!  Here we are during the break with Shawn himself.

From left to right & back to front…
Marc, Shawn, me, Jeff, Tracy, Sandy, Rebecca, Joanne, Val and Ashlynn (Tracy’s daughter).

Time for an eBay score don’t you think?  And it is another coffee mug.  This one CRACKS me up!  For Fox Sake…..

Sold for a best offer of $40 and went to Australia!

Check out the listing here.

I will FINALLY get my car back this morning.  It has been quite the experience…waiting almost 3 weeks for it to get fixed.  But, I have honestly not minded, since I have had the great Telluride Loaner.

Saturday, I only had to work until 2 pm.  Yay!  And then Sandy and I went to the fair to see Lee Brice.  Sandy, had bought me VIP tickets to the three country concerts for my birthday this year.

Here is our annual obligatory fair picture.  I had to borrow Sandy’s for the newsletter as Cha Cha had chewed mine up the night of the fair!  ughhh….I think she got it out of my purse.

They come in a plastic frame this year and I am sure Cha Cha had a blast destroying that!

We got there about 5:30 pm and sat on the turf waiting for the concert to start at 7:00.  We were in the front row!  Lee Brice is AMAZING!

I didn’t realize that Lee Brice sang so many of my favorite Country songs.  “I drive your truck” totally reminds me of my dad.  And of course it makes me cry.

Here is the back story to that.  My dad used to drive this “crazy” truck that had the gear shift on the wheel and one day he tried to teach Houston how to drive it.  That didn’t go so well.

Here is what Houston posted about my dad the day after he passed away (on Cinco de Mayo in 2017) and you can see why that song makes me cry.

Well, Lee Brice knelt down in front of me and sang a portion of that song to me on Saturday night….”I drive your truck”…Thanks for the Godwink Dad…aka Papa.  Do you think I had a tear rolling down my face?

On Sunday, Sandy and I would be manning the store along with Martha (who even brought her son Phoenix for a special photo).

I sent out an email on Sunday morning asking y’all to show up for our special guest, Sandy (as she has not worked in the store for over a year)…and boy, you did not disappoint.

Cindy and Sendia even showed up….along with a TON of our favorite customers and consignors.  WE LOVE YOU VENTURA!

And I just have to say, when your former employees want to come back and help out or just stop in, it really says something about the store that we all created here in Ventura.  It is a special place with a lot of love and great memories.  I will definitely miss it, but am ready to move on!

The store was sooooooo busy on Saturday and Sunday.  The store is really clearing out.  Sandy moved out 3 couches on Sunday alone!  Get in here before it is all gone!

On Monday, I did Fit Buddha and Tracy’s daughter Ashlynn joined us.  Hardest class I have done in a long time.  Ughhh!  I am still sore!

After class, Marc and I had a great lunch at Lure and then we debated whether or not to go and play pool.

I am going to be in Vegas next Monday and Houston had just posted this pic…so we took that as a sign…and headed to the Benchwarmer.

I especially love this pic because Houston is wearing my dad’s watch!

Really strange, but in my time hop for yesterday from 3 years ago, these pictures popped up.  We were up in Bellingham and I asked Houston if I could try on Papa’s watch.  Boy do we miss that guy!

As I am writing this section, the song “5 More Minutes” by Scotty McCreery is playing.  I LOVE that song because Scotty wrote it for his grandpas and it totally reminds me of my dad.

AND Sandy and I went to Scotty’s concert last night at the fair…but I will save that story for next week’s ezine….as this one is getting too long!  Hahahaha.

But, I digress…..These weekly pool games (aka lessons) are really helping me to get better.

Here is Marc discussing with Chaz how to get some of his favorite songs played without paying for them.   LOL Marc!.

Since we just mentioned Houston, time to mention Indiana.  Because she was struggling with health issues these past few years, she stopped doing the Groundling classes….even though she had made it to the Advanced level-which is crazy!

The Groundlings is an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre that has been entertaining LA Audiences for over 50 years years.  Many famous comedians have come up through the Groundlings…Jennifer Coolidge, Pee Wee Herman, Will Ferrel, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Maya Rudolph…to name a few.

Here is how it works….once you take a class you must pass to be advanced to the next level.  If at any point you fail, you are out of the process.  It is pretty high stakes.  And Indy had made it to level 3!

Unfortunately, because she hasn’t taken a class in over 2 years (ughhhh) she had to start over at beginner.  But that is OK and she is really enjoying herself.

So much so, that she has announced a show for later this month.  I am so excited.  So as a typical mother, I screen shot the announcement and shared it on my stories and Indy, being the comedian that she is….has to roast me for it!

We are so back…..

On Tuesday, it was Cha Cha’s 5th Birthday and on 8/05.  That made it her “golden birthday”….so her gift was to accompany me EVERYWHERE!

First stop….work.  We got about 5 packages ready to ship and she got a ton of treats.

Then we went to the downtown Post Office to mail “said” packages.  Even though there is a sign in the lobby that says “Seeing Eye Dogs Only”…I took her inside with me.  It was her birthday!

Then it was off to Carls Junior for a “puppy patty”. Do you think she is smiling? I do!

Next stop, the traffic offense window at the  Ventura County Courthouse.  Ughhhhh.  I got a ticket in April for being on my cell phone, but I am going to fight it.  I was at a stop light and glanced down for directions.  Seriously?

But Cha Cha was very good to wait in line with me!  I never take her out all day with me and she was getting tired!

Then it was time for Cha Cha to have some real fun.  We headed down to the beach to wrap up her special day!

Here is a TikTok I did of her.  Click here to watch her!  She runs like a greyhound!

Here are the pics I posted of Cha Cha on Social Media for her special day….Yes, we do LOVE this dog!  Doesn’t she look like a stuffed animal when she was a puppy?

Time for an eBay score.  I bought a bunch of religious figures at an estate sale in Faria Beach with Sandy back in April of last year.   While I was at the estate sale, I posted this on Instagram….

Probably paid $1 for this and it sold for a best offer of $40.  Sweet!

Check out the listing here.   And, just a heads up, almost everything we sell on eBay is sold using the Best Offer feature.  If you are a seller and are not using this, you are missing out!

Since I am taking my loaner back to Car Max this morning, I did one last dump run with all of the cardboard on Wednesday.  Xander did a great job of loading it up!

Back to the store…..For my consignors, here is more info about the closing.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision for me.  Here are the details of the closing process for my consignors.

Consignor Instructions
1.)  If you have consigned items with us, you MUST pick them up by 8/25 or they will become the property of Lynn’s Consignments.

2.) If it does sell before 8/25, you will receive payment for those items.  After 8/25, things will be liquidated and/or donated to The Boys & Girls Club, Battered Women or the “Moving In” Charity that helps to house the homeless.

3.)  We will still be taking in new consignments during this process.

4.) For those of you with items that sold over a year ago, your consignor credit has been converted to store credit as per the contract.

5.) I will be writing final checks on 8/31 and will be mailing those out. Please get your name on my check writing list by calling the store.

An update on my nephew, Zach. He is currently passing through Snoquolmie Pass….Almost there my man!

Here is a pic from Zach’s trek. So proud of this kid! Way to go Zach! And, he will be making it home in time for my mom’s 89th birthday party on Friday, August 15th.

Houston, Indy, Larissa and I will all be there. If any of you are going to be in the area then, let me know and I will send you an invite!
