041924 A Wonderful Celebration Of Life & New Arrivals!

Happy Friday! We got in some great new arrivals this week and I am sorry this email is a day late. Wednesday was spent honoring Val’s husband Ron Harrington at his celebration of life. This email had to wait.

As you may remember, Ron passed away last month and it is a huge loss to the Lynn’s Consignment family. We all loved Ron and Val is my OG from day 1. It has been a tough few years for Val and her family. Please keep them in your prayers.

The celebration started with a Mass at St. Mary’s in Camarillo, followed by Interment at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park. What a beautiful spot and Val couldn’t have picked a better place for her husband of over 40 years.

After the interment, complete with the military folding of and presenting of the flag and taps (tear jerker), we all headed to Las Posas Country Club for a catered luncheon. The photos the family shared were priceless and my heart is breaking for Val, her kids and grandkids. Such a huge loss.

But back to the store, I am pleased to announce that Lynn’s is offering a design service to give any room in your home a new look!. After all, our logo is Decorate with Heart. Susan & I have our first client and can’t wait to share our before and after photos with you soon.

Susan Wheelan and I will come out for a 30 minute consult for a flat $50 fee within Ventura. We will design a plan and will return and stage your project with items from your home, the store and others we source. You get to live with the design for 24 hours and may purchase what works for you at the item price plus a 20% service fee. You are under no obligation to purchase anything.

In addition to utilizing some of your existing decor, imagine how amazing some new throw pillows, throw blankets, art, decor, rugs and lamps can do to refresh a tired area of your home.

A little background about Susan Wheelan. She worked for Pennsylvania House Furniture for over 5 years as a design consultant and Top Producer. After Pennsylvania House (OMG, I almost wrote Transylvania House LOL), she worked 15 years as a designer for a prestigious home builder responsible for assisting clients in every aspect of building a home.

In addition, she has designed over 21 model homes. You have most likely seen her work in the store…she is AMAZING!

I had a super fun time this past Sunday night. My friend Marc (who owns Fit Buddha) invited me to a poker game up in Ojai. I think I am an excellent poker player, since I do really well at video poker when in Vegas.

Apparently, that is not the same thing. LOL. Here is our text exchange before the “live event”.

Then Marc started having second thought….OMG!

He invited the fancy butler. LOL….Then once I googled those games, I knew I was way out of my league.

The “hold on” meant I am calling you. He called me and read me the riot act….What does that even mean?

OK, if you know me or have been following me for years you know that I have to research everything! “Read me the riot act” means to speak angrily to someone about something they have done and warn that person that they will be punished if it happens again.

Apparently, I used that term wrong. Do you agree?

Back to our phone call, Marc was like, “Listen, you will be fine and you are “blank years old” (it is a big number that I can’t say out loud) and it is high time for you to learn how to play poker. Alright, I will be there. I text him from the Uber and said “I didn’t chicken out…see you soon.”

Here we are in the kitchen after drinking some Irish Car Bombs….LOL. I think one or two people had left at that point.

So, apparently I did OK. Here was my next text from Marc.

Back to store news, The eBay in person course for this Sunday has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 28th from 2 to 6 pm.

This is a short 4 hour class and you will leave with an item or 2 listed on eBay. You will also learn some of the most important things to know and do when selling on eBay.

I will be sending some lessons to you by email in the days leading up to the course so that we are all on the same page.

To be eligible to take this class, you must be computer savvy and own a laptop which you will bring to the class. You will also bring several items to list!

Space is limited and the price is $297 and you will receive a goodie bag. Fun Fun!

041124 We Met A Fancy Butler, Test Design Program & New Arrivals!

Happy Thursday! We got in some great new arrivals this week! But before we get to that, I have to tell you about our crazy day on Monday.

After Fit Buddha, Sandy, Marc and I headed over to Lure for lunch and Martini Monday. As we were sitting there, the most dapper man walked in wearing a three piece suit.

I said, “Aren’t you snappily dressed?” and we began chatting. Sandy was in the restroom and when she came back she said “Who is this?” and Marc said “Lynn’s next ex-husband.” Hahaha.

He worked as a Butler for a very famous film producer in Beverly Hills (I won’t drop any names) but his stories were a hoot! I actually called him a Cad. I guess I was channeling my grandmother on Monday with all those old school terms. LOL.

We ended up having a blast and at one point the restaurant manager came over and asked us to quite down. Always a fun time to be had!

Then on Tuesday, I had Kevin (who has been helping around the store) and Sandy come over to my house to help move my office.

I have a separate office behind my house and it is darling, but I never go in there because there is no entrance directly from the main house.

I asked Indy if I could use 1/2 her bedroom for my office and she agreed. We got most of my stuff moved in and her room re-arranged and I actually think it looks way better! I am thrilled with the way it turned out and even stayed working until 9 pm last night. Which I would never do in the outer office.

I think it is a win win for everyone. Check it out.

The only down side to Tuesday’s hard work was that I dropped an antique barbell from my grandmother’s antique store on my glass floor mat and it broke into a 1,000 pieces. Oh well!

In super sad news, I am sorry to share that Val’s husband, Ron, passed away last month. We lost a good one….. We are all heartbroken for Val and her family. Here is a link to his obituary.

The service will be next Wednesday, April 17th at 10 am at the Camarillo St. Mary’s Catholic Church. We hope to see some of you there to support Val & her family.

Sorry to have to share that sad news. Many of you were there during his cancer battle and for that we are so grateful.
