030724 I Am OVER The Rain, An EBay Class…. & New Arrivals!

Happy Thursday! I know we need the rain, but I am OVER it! I moved to California from Bellingham, WA for one BIG reason! I couldn’t live in the rain anymore and here I am living in Bellingham, CA as my brother calls it!

Thank you to everyone who has come in to see the store redo…your facial expressions make it all worth it!

4 Days of hustle and bustle and somehow we pulled it off…thank you to my amazing team!

Here are some of us on that grand reopening day. Whale, Indiana, me, Val, Sandy, Susan, Cindy, Tina and Kay.

Do you see that little red cash register on the counter?  Well, that was mine from when I was a kid.  I keep it on the shelf behind the front desk and as we were deep in the redo, I happened to see it and mentioned it to my mom….

I said “Mom, do you remember when I used to make art in my room in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada when I was 3…and I would tape it on my walls with prices and sell it to whomever came to our house?”

Of course, she remembered and I told her “I loved playing store and selling my artwork for 5 to 25 cents each and I kept all my money in that little red cash register.”

Fast forward to the grand reopening and I get the most beautiful bouquet of flowers from my mom with a card that read….

“Hi Lynn, Have A Fabulous Year ‘Playing’ Store…Luv, Mom”.  Awwwwww

I am so excited to announce that I have rescheduled the eBay class.  This is a short 4 hour class and you will leave with an item or 2  listed on eBay.  You will also learn some of the most important things to know and do when selling on eBay.

I will be sending some lessons to you by email in the days leading up to the course so that we are all on the same page.

To be eligible to take this class, you must be computer savvy and own a laptop which you will bring to the class.  You will also bring several items to list!

It will be Tuesday, March 19th from noon to 4 pm.  I am only taking 4 students.  Price is $297 and you will receive a goodie bag.  Fun Fun!

I won’t be offering a class this reasonably priced in the future, so if you are on the fence, you should jump in!

To give you a point of reference my 2 1/2 day eBay seminars back in the day at the La Quinta Resort were priced at $2,997.

It will be a blast and I am so excited to get back into teaching others how to make extra money from home. Please email me with any questions. Space is limited so here is a link to sign up.

It will be modeled after my 6 week on-line Six Step Course, but since it is in person you will still get the same benefits. And yes, that is a really OLD photo of me!

Here is more info about the course……

Maybe you need to earn some extra cash; maybe you just want to clean out your garage but don’t want the hassle of a garage sale. Maybe you inherited some antiques and don’t know how to turn them into money, or you need to supplement a fixed income. Whatever the reason for needing some extra CASH, Lynn Dralle has the solution! AND she is going to share her tips and tricks so you can make that solution work for you!

Lynn is offering her first ever live in Ventura course to teach you the basics of selling on eBay. Even if you have been selling on eBay for a while, this course will still teach you more than enough to make it worth your while.

In most classes, the teacher lectures while the students listen. Not in Lynn’s course! Lynn actually expects you to list something in front of her :).

What has been keeping you from making a go of selling on eBay? Maybe you found the listing process overwhelming. Maybe you couldn’t find the time to acquire all the technical knowledge eBay seems to require. Maybe you just found the whole prospect intimidating. Maybe you have sold things on eBay, but didn’t have much success getting the prices you hoped for. If so, then this is just the course for you. Lynn Dralle will show you just how easy and profitable selling on eBay can be.

Here is what some of Lynn’s recent graduates have to say about her course:  Keep in mind that these testimonials are about my ecourse….but you will be getting this knowledge in PERSON.  Even better!

“I enrolled in Lynn’s eCourse and turned my business around completely. By following Lynn’s carefully written instructions and applying them to my eBay site I now have over 1100 listings and continue to grow both in sales and knowledge.

Let me share with you one of my sales – I found a dinnerware set – Villeroy and Boch, Riviera pattern at a local resale shop. I paid $12.00 for the entire set, including lots of serving pieces. To date I have sold over $700.00 of this pattern and still have some pieces available. This was truly a remarkable experience.

Lynn’s eCourse showed me how to enhance my listings, how to take better pictures, where to look for merchandise, how to pack and ship to prevent breakages and much, much more. And now, the Queen of Auctions has her own binder on my bookshelf. I constantly refer back to the materials that I printed and I count her as one of my friends. She is always there to help.

Without this course it would have taken me years to learn what I now know. I am so very grateful. Time = Money and that’s what I got from this course – more sales, sales, sales!!!

– Auntie Suzi”

“I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the work you have put into this course. I taught at the College Level and you are one of a very few who knows how to transfer knowledge into learning -hallelujah!!!

– Cauleen Viscoff, Canada”

“My goodness, what a home run you hit with this lesson! It is so full of great information that I had to go over it several times. You are an outstanding teacher; I have put some of your lessons to use this week and that saved me a few costly mistakes. Thanks again for giving us such valuable information.

– Margaret (Peggy) McIlvain Texas”

“Just wanted to let you know I am really enjoying the lessons. As the Young people would say, you have really ‘turned me on’ to this eBay thing.

-Shirley Jones, Texas”

And just for fun, here is another one of my recent eBay scores. Paid $20 for it and sold it for a best offer of $150. Check out the listing here.

I will be writing a full length ezine over the upcoming weekend for publication next Thursday.  I will be out in the desert visiting my best friends for a few days.  Sooooo looking forward to a break.  I feel like I have been at the store 24/7 for the past 3 months!

For those of you who missed the news…we are staying open!   I am forever grateful to the community here in Ventura that has continued to show us undying support.  THANK YOU THANK YOU!

The turnout for our 6th Anniversary and Grand Re-Opening was phenomenal.  Even with the rain!  Thank you to everyone who brought flowers, food, champagne and just showed up!  We appreciate every single one of you!

Here is a fun photo from that day.  I LOVE my people!  Whale, Indiana, me, Val, Sandy, Susan, Cindy, Tina and Kay.

The store looks amazing!  And is FULL of new treasures.  Here is a sneak peek at how the front area looks…It was so nice to get a refresh!  And we are featuring Myra bags in the front…I even got a repost on the Myra Bag Intagram account when I posted this pic 🙂

A huge shout out to everyone who worked so incredibly hard this past week to get it ready for y’all.

Sandy, Susan, Sendia, Cindy (I guess I needed to start with the S sounding names first LOL), Whale, Martha, Tina, Kay and Peggy.  Thank you Thank you!  Also, Adolio and Paul who worked so hard to place the furniture exactly where we needed it.

Here is a photo of us having a “working” lunch back in the Original Fun Fashions store that now houses rugs, new furniture and overflow.  You must check it out!

Also, a shout out to my dear friend Audrey, who was my first employee (other than family) at Cheryl Leaf Antiques back in 1993.  OMG, Am I dating myself?

She flew down from Bellingham to consult for the clothing and overall floor plan and help us get everything perfect.  She did an amazing job! YOU MUST come in and see it.  Here is a photo of us out to dinner in Palm Desert back in 2017.  Yikes!

We still have some fixtures that we are selling.  There is a nice jewelry glass display cabinet for $150 and two of the tall Pier One Display Shelves for $150 each.    I may also have some Clothing Z racks.  I will let you know about those.  Also, I have two pop up tents.

We have two clothing appointments available this week. Thursday, March 7th at 1:30 pm and Friday, March 8th at 3:30 pm.

Another Sneak Peek of the store!  Can you tell that I really really really want you to come in to the store in person?

So, this past Saturday, when we were doing intake, our internet went down.  Crisis mode for sure!  In any event, there was this one pair of shoes that didn’t get a consignor number put on them.  I have reached out to all of our appointments, but no one has gotten back to me.  Who do these shoes belong to?  It makes me crazy when this happens!  Please help us out and solve the mystery of who belongs to these shoes!  Thank you!

Feeling grateful for all the support from our incredible community as we embark on this new chapter! Thank you for your patience and understanding during these transitional times. ❤

022924 Happy Leap Year & We Will See You Tomorrow For Our Grand Reopening!

No new arrival teasers this week.  We WANT you to see it in person tomorrow!

For those of you who missed the news…we are staying open!   I am forever grateful to the community here in Ventura that has continued to show us undying support.  THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Tomorrow, Friday, March 1st starting  at 11 am is our Grand Reveal and 6th Anniversary Party!  Yay!

We are all set with new consignments, but will be scheduling a few clothing appointments in the store in person on Friday for Saturday/Sunday of this week

Check out our front windows as we have been redoing the store for you!

Just so you know, me and my amazing staff are all EXHAUSTED, but so excited to share what we have built. Just an FYI, Adolio and Paul helped me bring in two 20 foot trucks full of amazing furniture yesterday.

Here is Adolio getting ready to unload it….What an adventure!

And tomorrow, our 6th Anniversary and March 1st, is also the day that should have been my Dad’s 90th birthday.  So, in honor of Dr. Wayne Dralle, I hope you come out and share in our fun new vision.

Hope to see you soon!  Here are a few of my favorite photos of my dad. Thank you for indulging me!

The first one is when we surprised my dad in Bellingham for his 75th birthday.  Indiana and Houston were so little!  We had my sister, Kiki, call him at 10 at night to tell him that a pipe had broken in her house.  He was so pissed to come over and we were all hiding in her room.

I had the kids jump out and surprise him…LOL, he is still holding the big wrench!

This next one is me and my brother in 1969 with my dad in England for the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.  My mom took the photo and it is classic!

Again, he was a little pissed off, because Lee and I were afraid to go and stand by the horse.

By the time he convinced us to stand there we were all smiles, but he was still mad.

My dad with my mom’s cousin Donald and my grandpa Elmer Leaf (Cheryl Leaf’s husband).  That is my grandpa’s dog Brit and I love that my mom and dad lived in Barrack number 22…22 has always been my favorite number.  How cute are they all?  and so stylish…just like the clothing area that my great friend Audrey has been redoing all week!  You will be blown away……

OK, just one more pic and so hard to choose.   But I have decided…..his 80th birthday in Palm Desert at an old school steakhouse with my darling kids and he was such a great sport.  We made him wear goofy glasses and hats and gave him candy from his era…he LOVED it!

OK, back to reality.  But thank you for walking down memory lane with me and my dad.  I really miss him and I know a lot of you can relate!

With our new business model, we will be testing new store hours during the month of March.  Here are the hours going forward.  We will test being closed on Tuesdays.

Store Hours
Weds to Sat        11 to 5
Sunday              11 to 3

The Clothing section (now in the main store) is getting a TOTAL makeover and I am so excited about it!  Here is the work in progress!

Thank you Wayne for putting up the fixtures and Audrey for the new vision!

Feeling grateful for all the support from our incredible community as we embark on this new chapter! Thank you for your patience and understanding during these transitional times. ❤️

I also want to shout out to my amazing staff BY NAME….I know I don’t say this enough, but y’all are the BEST and I LOVE YOU!

Sandy, Val, Candy (hope to see you back soon), Peggy, Cindy, Susan, Robin, Sendia, Martha, Whale, & Emily and we also have a few new faces…so THANK YOU ALL!

Oh Crap! Gotta thank all m y friends who come to visit and volunteer their time…big shout out to Jo Dallas, Melanie Souve, Kathy Rutan, Leslie Arntzen, Tina Burke, Mo Arcand, Kel Whittet and Candy Dunphy…If I have forgotten anyone, I am truly sorry. It has been a crazy week!

Oh btw, my mom fell and hurt her hip so won’t be here for the 6th anniversary…I am so bummed, as she was here 6 years ago putting it all together with me and Val…UGHHHH…I will miss her!

She is also my biggest Cheerleader….I LOVE YOU MOR MOR!  Here is a pic of my mom from the very beginning of the store …6 years ago.  Can you believe how empty the store looks?  And she is with one of my first consignors…#9, George….we love you George!

Some of my awesome crew…These are the OG gals.  Val, me and Sandy!  Hopefully Val will pop in for a while on Friday, March 1st…we miss her ever so much!

Please pray for her and her family….

Thanks for reading my ezines!  I appreciate it….as always!
