10/05/23 Firefighters Had To Rescue Carlos & New Arrivals!

Sorry, this should have been a full length ezine, but the past two weeks have been crazy! I will try and write an ezine next week. Fingers crossed that things get back to normal.

Val has been out of the store and hanging with her husband who is in the hospital. He is getting better by the day! Sandy has been sick and missed almost a week in the store and then Cindy is on vacation. I am running the store with a skeleton crew and I miss them all!

On top of being short staffed, I watched my friend Marty’s dog for 5 days. Willy is an awesome Portuguese Water Dog, but he is trained to clear the decks. I know this and I should have put Carlos in the casita, but I did not. Poor Carlos wound up at the top of our tree. Ughhh.

He was up there for two hours and I was googling what to do. I read that cats claws make it easy to go up, but the only way they can get down is to go backwards. He obviously couldn’t figure it out. Poor baby.

I finally read something that said if you call the Fire Department’s non-emergency line, they may be able to help you. OMG! The best crew of guys from Station 5 came to rescue Carlos. I am so grateful! He was super spooked and spent the next seven days under the deck. I was able to feed him there. Crisis averted!

To be fair to Willy, it was fun to have two dogs around for the week. And he really is a sweetheart. Here he is with Cha Cha on a walk.

I had two darling customers come in yesterday, Marissa & Tia. Tia was telling me how much she loves my newsletter and really looks forward to reading it. That cracked me up! I said “My kids don’t even read it”…..

Then I asked them if they were friends. “No, we are sisters” and I said “Weird, because you don’t even look alike.”

Then Tia says “Dude (I so loved that) we are identical twins”. Hahahahahaha! I love my store! It is too much fun!
